HOLISTIC REMEDIAL MASSAGE

60 mins $199, 90 mins $279 (health fund claimable)

A creative holistic approach. The massage/bodywork explores physical, mental and emotions as an outcome. We will conduct a postural assessment and postural habits/health investigation. The massage/bodywork component investigates the physical signs ie. soft tissue injuries and aching muscles etc and includes a variety of modalities to aid in treating these.

Various bodywork modalities used could include:

  • Deep Tissue Massage - a firm pressure, therapeutic massage. It helps to alleviate pain, muscle spasms, stress, inflammation and tissue damage. A great massage for anyone with soft tissue problems.

  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) - the strokes applied in manual lymphatic drainage are intended to stimulate the movement of the lymphatic fluids in order to assist the body in cleansing. This is a gentle, rhythmical technique that cleanses the connective tissue of inflammatory materials and toxins, enhances the activity of the immune system, reduces pain, and lowers the activity of the sympathetic nervous system.

  • Sports Massage - designed to enhance athletic performance and recovery. When an athlete sustains an injury, skillful massage therapy can often speed up and improve the quality of healing.

  • Traditional Cupping - this technique involves the use of glass cups to provide suction along the body. This action encourages the toxins deep within the muscle to surface up to the skin and then out of the body. Blood flow then increases through the muscle.

  • Craniosacral Therapy - a gentle therapy which helps to correct imbalances in the body, centered on the skull vertebral column and the sacrum.

  • Myofascial Release - this involves the stretching of restricted fascia to allow the fascia (connective tissue) to unwind itself. The gentle friction applied to the restricted fascia will result in heat and increased blood to the area.

  • Dry Needling - dry needling releases trigger points found in the muscular system, which release the muscle. Although it requires the use of acupuncture needles the technique provides a different result to acupuncture.

  • Trigger Point Therapy - this involves the application of pressure to tender areas in muscle knots in order to eliminate pain and helps to re-educate the muscles into pain-free habits.

  • Guasha - an ancient Chinese technique that involves the scraping of the skin with a smooth-edged instrument to release the toxins stored in the molecules. This encourages blood to flow to the area and removes toxins from the blood.

  • Trager - utilising gentle, non-intrusive, natural movements, Trager helps release deep-seated physical and mental patterns and facilitates deep relaxation, increased physical mobility, and mental clarity. These patterns may have developed in response to accidents, illnesses, or any kind of physical or emotional trauma, including the stress of everyday life.

  • Myofascial Kinesio Taping - this technique uses a specific adhesive called Kinesio Tape. Its application does not restrict mobility like other tapes. This technique aids in increasing blood flow with healing and reduces inflammation.

  • Dorn Method - a holistic, non-manipulative and safe way to correct misalignment of the spinal column and other joints. It is an effective method that can help with back pain, sciatica, scoliosis, neck and joint pains, migraines and hip problems. The method is based on natural laws of physics and anatomy and combines TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Principals/Knowledge with western techniques and principals.

  • Pregnancy Massage - massage during pregnancy can reduce peripheral swelling, help prevent insomnia, reduce muscle cramps and back pain, and soothe the nervous system.

  • Swedish Massage* - a hands-on full body massage of medium pressure which relieves muscle tension, stimulates circulation, increases serotonin levels, improves muscle tone and promotes total mind and body relaxation.

  • Kahuna  (Women Only)* - Hawaiian Kahuna Massage is a flowing, energetically vibrant yet deeply relaxing massage using long fluid strokes of varying intensity.

  • Hot Stone Massage* - penetrating heat from smooth warmed stones placed on the body help to relieve tense muscles and sore joints. Combined with Swedish techniques, this creates a truly relaxing experience.

  • DoTERRA AromaTouch Therapy* - the dōTERRA ArōmaTouch Technique is a clinical approach to applying essential oils along energy meridians and visceral contact points of the back and feet to help balance sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems of the body. The ArōmaTouch Technique improves well-being by reducing physical and emotional stressors.

  • Reiki* - an ancient form of Japanese hands on healing. Hands are placed on or just above the client and energy is transferred through the practitioner to the client, promoting emotional balance and physical well-being.

  • Reflexology*- by using thumb and fingers, points on the feet corresponding to all the glands, organs and parts of the body are stimulated. The aim is to encourage a beneficial effect on parts of the body and to improve general well-being.
